Clyde W. Ford is the 2006 Hurston-Wright Legacy Award winner in fiction for his novel, The Long Mile. Clyde’s been nominated for the 2019 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award in non-fiction for his memoir, Think Black, which recounts the story of his father, the first black software engineer in America. Trained as a software engineer, chiropractor, and psychotherapist, Ford is the author of 12 works of fiction and non-fiction. He’s appeared on the Oprah Show, National Public Radio, and C-SPAN/BookTV to speak about his writing and work in social justice.
