Chigozie Obioma was born in Nigeria and lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he is a professor of literature and creative writing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Fishermen was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize and won an NAACP Image Award and an Emerging Voices Award presented by the Financial Times and Oppenheimer Funds.
