Gary Younge is editor-at-large for the Guardian and writes a monthly column for The Nation in New York. An award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster, he reported from America for 12 years before returning to Britain in 2015 with his family. Born near London to Barbadian parents, he has been a campaigner for social justice in general and anti-racism in particular and is the Arthur Knobler Fellow for the Nation Institute. He has won several awards both for his journalism and his books, including the James Aaronson Career Achievement Award from Hunter College, City University of New York. Another Day in the Death of America won the 2017 J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize from Columbia Journalism School and The Nieman Foundation.
