Sjohnna McCray is the 2015 winner of the Walt Whitman Award. Rapture is his debut collection. He has published poems in Black Warrior Review, Callaloo, the Southern Review, and elsewhere. He received his MFA from the University of Virginia and teaches at Savannah State University.
