Yewande Omotoso is an architect with a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Cape Town. She is the author of two novels: Bomboy, which won the South African Literary Award First -Time Author Prize and was shortlisted for the Etisalat Prize for Literature; and The Woman Next Door, which is a finalist for the International DUBLIN Literary Award, and one of NPR’s Best Books of the Year. Omotoso was born in Barbados and grew up in Nigeria, moving to South Africa with her family in 1992. She lives in Johannesburg.
