Nisi Shawl is the multiple award-winning author and editor of over a dozen books of speculative fiction and related nonfiction, including the Nebula Award finalist novel Everfair, two volumes of the New Suns anthology series, and their debut story collection Filter House, co-winner of the 2009 Otherwise Award. They’ve lectured at Duke University, Sarah Lawrence College, University of Hawai’i Manoa, and many other institutions. They’re the co-author of Writing the Other, a standard text on inclusive literary representation. Recent titles include a new story collection, Our Fruiting Bodies, and Speculation, a historical fantasy.
